H’View open up six point gap in Claro KSAFA Under-17 Confed League

Unbeaten Harbour View registered their eighth win with a 7-0 thrashing of Brown’s Town last week and maintained pole position in the Claro KSAFA Under-17 Confederation competition.

The competition’s leading marksman Jorginho James grabbed a brace in the 22nd and 34th minutes carrying his tally to 11 goals. He was ably assisted by Nicholas Scott (68th, 70th) and Kamario Osbourne (77th, 88th). But it was Kyle Scott who had actually opened the floodgate in the 10th minute.

Harbour View with their eighth win from nine games including one draw, moved to 25 points, six clear of the chasing pack and will take some catching for the remainder of the season.

Brown’s Town which was suffering their seventh defeat from eight games with one win, remained rooted to the bottom on three points.

Second-placed Cavaliers could only muster a 0-0 draw with long time rivals Santos and lost ground to the leader falling six points behind.

Unbeaten Cavaliers which started the day on 18 points and just four behind Harbour View, inched to 19 points with their fourth drawn game from nine encounters.

For Santos, it is not looking good as they languish in mid table in eighth spot with nine points.

Meanwhile Waterhouse whipped Allman/Woodford 4-0 to be level with Cavaliers on 19 points as they try and stay in touch with the leaders.

Oshane Roberts opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Anthony Greenland doubled the advantage with a 44th minute goal. Chevovn Nugent made the points safe in the 55th minute before Jason Wright put the icing on the cake two minutes later.

Allman/Woodford remained in early trouble second from bottom with five points after suffering their sixth defeat.

In another long time rivalry, Arnett Gardens clipped Tivoli Gardens 1-0 courtesy of a Vishinuel Harris goal in the 12th minute.

The “Junglist” consolidated fourth spot on 17 points after registering their fifth win of the campaign while Tivoli Gardens stayed seventh on 10 points.

Boys’ Town had to come from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Duhaney Park for who Odean Marrant and Chadrick Prawl scored in the 14th and 51st minutes.

Javanie Mitchell had equalized for Boys’ Town in the 42nd minute and it took another in the 70th minute by Kevin Blackwood for a share of the points.

The young Boys Brigade maintained their fifth place with 14 points and Duhaney Park stayed ninth on seven points.

The game between Maverly/Hughenden and Cooreville Gardens was not played and will be rescheduled for a later date.

Cooreville Gardens remained in sixth spot on 13 points with a game in hand while Maverly/Hughenden on six points remained in 10th.

In the Claro KSAFA Under-17 Zone A action, Barbican registered the biggest win mauling Rockfort 8-0 with six different scorers.

Central Kingston and Rae Town scored identical 3-0 wins over Swallowfield and Bull Bay respectively while Shortwood blanked New Kingston 2-0.

In Zone B action, Stony Hill turned back Meadforest 4-1; Molynes United beat Seaview Gardens 2-0; Maxfield edged Meadhaven United 1-0 and Greenwich Town clipped Olympic Gardens by the same score.
