Waterhouse FC 2010 KSAFA Claro U-20  Champions League Champions

Goals from Alvin Nelson, Darren Mattocks and Ashani Walker carried Waterhouse to a 3-1 win over defending champions Harbour View in the final of the KSAFA U20 Champions League at the UWI Bowl, Saturday, June 12, 2010.

Nelson put Waterhouse in the lead with a brilliant solo run in the 14th minute. The Firemen held onto the 1-0 lead up to the end of the first half.

Both teams went on the hunt at the start of the second half . A keen tussle ensued as the game swung from end to end . However, Harbour View soon leveled the score with a beauty of a free kick by Jermie Lynch that comprehensively beat Waterhouse custodian Robert Johnson in the 59th min. Sensing that the game may well shift in their favour, as they did in the come from behind against Meadhaven united the previous year, Harbour View threw everything in to the attack. This was stoutly resisted by Waterhouse. The pendulum however swung back in the Firemen’s favour as Harbour View Damion Lowe was ejected in the 67th min for a second bookable offence. Midfield general Ashani Walker picked up a pass from a counter attack and shunted a defense splitting pass to the competition’s leader goal scorer Darren Mattocks who slotted home in the 79th minute. Five minutes from time, the unmarked Ashani walker slammed the ball into the roof of the net from a pass from Ricardo Smith who outran the Harbour View Defense.

The 3-1 victory gained Waterhouse their second title in the 15 year history of the competition. Harbour View was denied their fifth lien.
