Santos Howard Morris weaving way to third goal vs Olympic Gardens

A scintillating four goals by Howard Morris carried Santos to a 5-0 blanking of bottom of the table Olympic Gardens in the 7th round of the Claro KSAFA Under 13 Confed competition at Buttercup Park on Saturday July 17.

Morris opened his account in the 20th minute to carry Santos to a 1-0 lead into the second half. He added a second with a 36th minute penalty that had Olympic custodian Saga Reid comprehensively beaten. Thereafter, Morris rang rings around the stunned Olympic Gardens defence . He picked up a pass on the edge of the 18 in the 38th minute , weaved through three of their defenders and slammed home in the roof of the net . The excitement around the park had hardly settled when Morris dribbled by and with deft body moves left some 4 opponents for dead and rifled a cannon in the pigeon hole in the 39^th minute to put Santos 4-0 up. Young Javanni Garwood had his father cheering from the bye lines as he scored Santos fifth and final goal in the 41^st min. The win put Santos third position in the table on 9 pts but with some two more matches than their rivals in the Confed zone.

In other Confed matches, Real Mona moved to second in the points standing on 10 pts with a 2-0 defeat of arch rival Harbor View. Tivoli Gardens suffered their first defeat when zone leader Waterhouse edged then 1-0. Defending Champions Cavalier SC also suffered their first season defeat when Barbican surprised them 2-0 with a brace from Wayne Campbell in the 27^th & 54^th minute. In a bottom of the table clash Boy’s Town and Allman Woodford played to a nil all draw.
