Rae Town cool red-hot Mountain View in feature match-up

Leading marksman Damion Jackson struck his 15th goal of the season as Rae Town turned back Mountain View 1-0 in the feature match of the KSAFA Super League at the Excelsior Field yesterday.

Jackson netted the all-important goal in the 31st minute as Rae Town consolidated second spot on 35 points and kept in touch with leader Cavaliers.
Rae Town, the only unbeaten team on the road, secured their fifth away win and 19th overall to be just three off the leader.

Mountain View, coming off some impressive wins in the last couple of weeks, was losing only their second match and slipped a spot to fourth in the league with 28 points.

At the Spring Complex, Cavaliers maintained their lead atop of the standing with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Meadhaven United.

Goals by Donovan Alvaranga and Phillip Riley in the 23rd and 75th minutes respectively, propelled Cavaliers to their 11th win from 16 games.

Cavaliers stayed top with 37 points while Meadhaven, which was losing for the 11th time in 15 games, remained second from bottom with six points.

Former champion Santos went into the Bull Pen and hammered Bull Bay 4-1 to climb into third spot with 31 points.

Sheldon Madden had actually given home team Bull Bay a 15th minute lead before Santos took over and ran riot.

Rajay Tulloch equalized for Santos in the 31st minute before Fabian Nethersole gave them the ascendancy with his 11th goal in the 83rd minute. Three minutes later Jermaine Gibbs made in 3-1 before Shyan Evans sealed the win in the 93rd minute. Santos moved into third spot ahead of Mountain View and remained six points off the leader. Bull Bay with their eight loss from 16 games, stayed in ninth spot on 12 points.

At Up Park Camp, home team Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) edged Real Mona 1-0 courtesy of an Oneil Spence goal in the sixth minute.
It was his third goal of the season and it pushed JDF to 28 points, the same as Mountain View but fifth spot based on their inferior goal difference.
Real Mona which was suffering their fifth defeat of the campaign, stayed in seventh spot on 21 points.

A double strike from Earl Roberts in the 21st and 43rd minutes pushed Duhaney Park to a 3-1 win over Constant Spring at the Duhaney Park Field. Kadare Francis netted in the 49th making it three nil before Claudious Blackburn scored a consolation goal for Constant Spring in the 90th minute. Duhaney Park with three valuable points moved to 10 points but remained in 10th spot and are four points clear of the relegation zone. It was a major setback for Constant spring as they lost ground to the leaders. However, they remained in sixth place with 21 points.

Up at the Barbican Field, Barbican scored two late goals in two minutes to defeat Maverley/Hughenden 2-0. Just when it looked like the game would end in a tame draw, Dasheen Meek popped up to score in the 87th minute before Shawn Lawes doubled the advantage in the 89th minute. It was a crucial win for Barbican as they continued to close the gap on Real Mona and Constant Spring just above them.
Maverley with their 13th defeat from 15 games, continues to struggle and are rooted to the bottom of the league with four points.

Central Kingston open up three-point lead

In the KSAFA Major League, leader Central Kingston opened up a three-point advantage after blanking Olympic Gardens 2-0 at Winchester Park.
Devon Johnson opened the scoring in the 72nd minute and seven minutes later, Kemal Malcolm secured all three points in the 79th minute.
Central Kingston, which started the day one point in front are now three points clear of Police National which dropped valuable points.
Olympic Gardens continued their dismal form losing for the 10th time from 13 games to be second from bottom on seven points.

Meanwhile second-placed Police dropped two crucial points after battling to a 1-1 draw with Greenwich Town at the Edward Seaga Stadium.
Hubert Smith gave Police a 32nd minute lead but veteran David Stulz pulled Greenwich Town level in the 45th minute.
Police stayed second with 26 points while Greenwich stayed fifth on 18 points.

Meanwhile Rockfort crushed Cooreville Gardens 4-1 to stay third and in touch with the leader on 24 points following double strikes from Audley Hanson and Rayon Brown.
Hanson scored in the 33rd and 79th minutes while Brown netted in the 66th and 78th minutes as Rockfort secured their seventh win of the season.
Cooreville which was losing their seventh game from 13 games, dropped a spot to 10th with 12 points.

At Vauxhall High School, Molynes United registered the biggest win of the round whipping home team Brown Town 4-0.
Damian Edwards grabbed a brace in the 59th and 89th minutes while Andrew Peddler scored in the 84th along a 90th minute strike from Orando Barclay.
Molynes with only their fourth win, leapfrogged Cooreville gardens into ninth spot on 12 points. Brown Town also dropped a spot to seventh with 17 points.

At Jamaica College, home team Liguanea United and UWI played to a 1-1 draw.
Okeete Greene gave Liguanea a third minute lead but Jeffrey brown had other ideas and equalized in 67th minute for a share of the points.
Liguanea climbed two places to sixth with 18 points while UWI stayed fourth on 20 points, nine behind the leader.

Cooke scores four for Shortwood

In the Syd Bartlett League, Fabian Cooke scored all four goals as Shortwood assumed sole leadership with a convincing 4-2 win over Seaview Gardens.
Cooke netted in the 41st, 51st, 68th and 75th minutes enabling Shortwood to open up a two-point advantage after starting the day tied with Stony Hill and Allman/Woodford. Shortwood with their sixth win from 10 starts moved to 22 points while Seaview stayed fourth on 18 points.

At Golden Spring, the game between Stony Hill and Red Hill was not played due to the lack of proper security and this allowed Stony Hill to slip to third on 19 points. Red Hills also stayed rooted to the bottom on three points as this game will have to be rescheduled for another date.

Allman/Woodford moved into second spot despite playing to a 1-1 draw with Meadforest at Queensborough Field. Andrew Andrews gave the visiting Allman/Woodford an 82nd minute lead but Yannick Parks leveled the scores for Meadforest on the stroke of full time. Allman/Woodford inched to 20 points from 11 games and are two behind Shortwood. Meadforest stayed seventh with nine points in the nine-team league.

At Molynes Field, New Kingston edged Pembroke Hall 3-2 and joined them on 12 points but still remained in sixth place based on an inferior goal difference.
Goals by Deveron Dixon in the 23rd, Ricardo Mortley in the 30th and Patrick Deacon in the 37th minutes pushed New Kingston to a three nil half time score.
But Pembroke Hall rallied with two late goals by Joseph Fuller and Hanif Shand in the 87th and 90th minutes respectively.
