The Kingston & St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) today, welcomed Jamaica Yellow Pages as its new title sponsor of the 2011/12 KSAFA Jackie Bell Knockout Competition, at the company’s head office this morning.

The sponsorship is worth $12M, over a three year period and will be contested by teams competing in all of KSAFA's senior leagues.

Cecelia Bell Marketing Manager of Jamaica Yellow Pages stated that, “This sponsorship represents the culmination of several years of discussion with KSAFA. We felt football, at the club level, is a suitable avenue through which to support the development of the sports in Jamaica generally, while giving back to the community and projecting the Jamaica Yellow Pages brand in a positive and meaningful way.”

Observing that Jamaica Yellow Pages, like football reaches Jamaicans from “all walks of life”, Miss Bell said “the sponsorship was the beginning of an important partnership with KSAFA that the company hoped will derive mutual benefits and last for many years.”

In his response, Rudolph Speid, President of KSAFA said that “The KSAFA is delighted that the Jamaica Yellow Pages, a first time sponsor of football in Jamaica, has decided to come on board and partner with us in promoting this premier knockout competition.”

He further stated that “The competition is in its 24th staging and the 25th anniversary of the death of Winthorpe ‘Jackie Bell’ in whose honour the competition was named. During that period only nine teams have won the competition; a coveted title that all KSAFA teams are prepared to win for the first time, fight tooth and nail to defend, or to add another championship to their Silverware. I urge all Jamaicans to come out and support their favourite club.”

The competition will kick start on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 with 12 teams in action.

Jamaica Defence Force will tackle Constant Spring at Up Park Camp, Greenwich Town faces Olympic Gardens at Tinson Pen, Molynes United will go up against Mountain View at Molynes Field, Allman/Woodford takes on Real Mona at Heroes Circle, UWI versus Duhaney Park at the UWI Bowl and August Town will visit Santos at the Bell/Chung Oval.

All matches begin at 3:00p.m.

This year's competition will feature 30 teams, five from the National Premier League, 12 from the Super League and 14 from the Major League competition.

Harbour View Football Club are the defending champion.
