Veteran striker Denton Shedden
grabbed a hattrick as Barbican FC edged Real Mona 3-2 in their
Claro/Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super
League at Buttercup Park.
Shedden netted in the 53rd,
57th and the 80th minutes as Barbican recorded their third win
and climbed two spots to eighth on 10 points.
Shedden at age 41, was scoring
his fourth goal of the season in a remarkable career that he was
best known for while at Arnett Gardens.
Chad Bennett had actually given
Real Mona an eighth minute lead and Jevaughn Beckford equalized
for them in the 64th minute.
Real Mona which was suffering
their sixth loss from nine games, stayed rooted to the bottom on
five points.
Meanwhile Cavalier has opened
up an eight point lead atop the league with an impressive 2-0
win over August Town at Collie Smith Drive.
Goals by Mitchily Waul in the
10th minute which was his sixth of the season and Michael
Stone’s 35th minute strike, propelled Cavalier to their eighth
win from nine games and unto 25 points.
Losers August Town which
started the day in second place, five points behind, stayed
second but are now eight points adrift with a lot of work to do.
Rockfort stayed third with 16
points despite losing 0-1 to Rae Town. The ever-dangerous Damion
Jackson found the clincher in the 49th minute as Rae Town moved
up to 14 points in sixth spot.
Santos inched to 14 points in
fifth place after playing to a 0-0 draw with seventh placed
Mountain View on nine points.
Meanwhile leading goalscorer
Anthony Grant of the University of the West Indies (UWI) notched
his 11th goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Bull Bay.
Grant who netted in the 23rd
minute is three clear of Fabian Nethersole of Santos on eight.
Marlon Henry scored for Bull Bay in the 47th minute for his
fourth goal of the season, earning a share of the points.
UWI are fourth on 14 points
while Bull Bay remained in the relegation zone in 11th spot on
six points.
Leonard Gooden scored against
his former club giving Duhaney Park a 1-0 win over Constant
Spring.
Duhaney Park which was winning
for the first time in nine matches, stayed 10th on eight points,
just behind ninth-placed Constant Spring on nine points.
Claro Major League
Olympic Gardens maintained
their three-point lead atop the Major League with a 2-0 win over
Cooreville Gardens.
Goals by Bryan Levy (34th) and
Romaine Riley (55th) pushed Olympic Gardens to their third win
from four starts and onto 10 points.
Cooreville Gardens continue to
struggle and are still winless losing their third match to be at
the bottom on one point.
Central Kingston stayed in
touch with the leader clipping Greenwich Town 2-1 to be on seven
points.
Kevin Martin and Orett Williams
both netted for Central Kingston in the 10th and 78th minutes
respectively while Ricardo Monroe scored for the losers in the
27th minute as Greenwich Town slipped a spot to fourth on six
points.
Allman/Woodford climbed into
third spot on seven points after whipping Stony Hill 3-1
courtesy of two goals from Nicholas Brown (14th& 92nd) and one
from Kemar Kennedy (40th).
Fabian Facey responded for
Stony Hill in the 78th minute, as they stayed second from bottom
on one point.
Seaview Gardens jumped into
fifth spot on six points edging Shortwood United 1-0 courtesy of
a Dane Bullock strike in the 47th minute.
Shortwood which was losing
their second match from four starts are still winless in eighth
place on two points.
Brown’s Town and Molynes United
battled to a 1-1 draw to be in seventh and ninth spots on five
and one point respectively.
Damian Edwards had given
Molynes a 39th minute lead but Ricardo Sinclair earned a share
of the points in the 78th minute.
Syd Bartlett League
Maxfield Park extended their
lead atop of the Syd Bartlett League despite playing to a 1-1
draw with Meadforest.
Mark Ellis gave them the lead
in the 56th minute before Rorian Lindo tied the game for
Meadforest in the 66th minute.
Maxfield Park with five wins, a
draw and a lost, moved to 16 points while Meadforest stayed
third on 11 points.
New Kingston registered the
only win edging Red Hills 2-1.
Goals by Kirk Patrick McLean
and Sheldon Fearon in the 24th and 77th minutes respectively
pushed New Kingston to their third win and onto 10 points in
fourth spot.
Red Hills stayed second on 14
points for which Andre Madison scored in the 75th minute.
Swallowfield and Island Special Constabulary Force (ISCF) played
to a 1-1 draw.
Swallowfield with five points
are in fifth spot while ISCF are at the bottom on three points. |
