Fitzroy Dewar was the toast
of the Claro KSAFA Major League grabbing a three-timer as
Police National thrashed Pembroke Hall 6-0 last Saturday for
their first win of the season from two starts.
Dewar scored in the 22nd,
32nd and 65th minutes and was ably supported by Andrew Palmer
in the eighth, and a double by Alwyn Morgan in the 38th and
68th minutes.
The lawmen were rebounding
from an opening day 1-2 loss to fellow peacekeepers the
Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) on November 5.
It was Pembroke Hall’s second
consecutive loss after going down 0-3 to Shortwoood FC.
In the meantime, Shortwood
grabbed pole position with their second win of the campaign
clipping Maxfield FC 2-1 and moved to six points from two
games.
Michael Ellis opened the
scoring for Shortwood in the 16th minute but Damian Campbell
pulled Maxfield levelled on the stroke of half time before
Gavin McKoy found the winner in the 62nd minute.
Allman/Woodford moved into
second spot also on six points after edging New Kingston 1-0
courtesy of a Damian Williams’ 11th minute strike. It was New
Kingston’s second defeat and they remained pointless after two
rounds.
The JDF and Cooreville Gardens are on four points after
playing to a 1-1 with Cooreville Gardens are third on four
points while earned ther first point of the season.
O’Neil Spence gave the
soldiers in the 63rd minute and Andrew Anderson replied for
Cooreville in the 75th minute.
Real Mona and Swallowfield are on four points after battling
to an away 1-1.
Shevon Wright scored for
Swallowfield in the 15th minute and Joseph Moses equalised for
Real Mona in the 32nd minute.
The match between Meadforest
and Brown’s Town was postponed while the Bull Bay/Molynes
United match-up at the Bull Pen was not played because of the
lack of security.
Claro KSAFA Super League
Barbican assumed sole
leadership of the Claro KSAFA Super League with a 2-0 win over
Santos to be on six points from two games.
Leon Brown and Ricardo Scott
netted the goals in the 52nd and 70th minutes as Barbican goes
to points clear of four teams on four points.
The promoted Greenwich Town
was the only other winner in the Super League edging Rockfort
1-0 courtesy of a Peter Cardoza 30th minute goal.
Defending champion Cavalier
had to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Duhaney
Park. An own goal in the fifth minute gave Duhaney Park the
lead before the prolific Fabian Nethersole equalised eight
minutes from time for his second goal of the season.
It took a 90th minute goal
from Roberto Fletcher to earn August Town a 2-2 draw with
Mountain View.
August Town which defeated Greenwich Town 4-3 last week, took
the lead through Omari Edwards in the fourth minute.
But Mountain View struck back
with two goals in nine minutes as Andrew Morrison scored in
the 62nd minute and Adrian Kitson gave them the lead in the
71st minute.
But Fletcher, formerly of
Waterhouse, Tivoli Gardens and Humble Lion, earned a share of
the points for August Town in the 90th minute.
Rae Town and the University
of the West Indies played to a 0-0 stalemate as did Constant
Spring and Olympic Gardens.
The competition continue on
Saturday with Cavalier tackling last season’s Major League
champion Greenwich Town in the feature encounter at Exed
Community College.
