CLARO CUG
Clubs,
We have been
advised that our CLARO CUG will be discontinued on March 1, 2012. We
are currently in discussion with other providers in an effort not to
have any interruption to our service. The most determining factor as
to who will we will ultimately transfer our business to, will be price
and benefits.
In the
meanwhile, you are being asked not to try and transfer your CUG CLARO
phones/numbers to DIGICEL, as this will not be allowed. If we decide
to go with Digicel, your numbers will be transferred automatically. If
we go with LIME, new numbers and phones will be assigned.
As I receive
more information, you will be advised accordingly. Please do not
hesitate to call me if you need clarification.

RAE TOWN FOOTBALL
CLUB MOURNS THE DEATH OF KEYON "FIREMAN" LESLIE
Greetings:
The Rae Town
Football club and community continues to mourn the passing of one of
our players (recently transferred to Cavaliers S.C) who represented us
from the youth level right up to the Super League 2010-2011 season.
Keyon Leslie
was gunned down in the Southside community on December 24th 2011. His
passing has sent shock waves through our club as well as the wider
community.
We are trying
to address a need expressed by his family who have indicated that they
are unable to fully finance his funeral. As a football community we
believe that it is important that we rally around the player's family
at this time.
As such we are
hosting an event of Friday 20th of January 2012 (3:00 p.m - 8 p.m)
at the Breezy Castle Sports Complex (Rae Town's home field) called
" In remembrance of Keyon "Fireman" Leslie" We are asking the clubs
and their players to come out and support this evening of liming,
drinking, domino playing and music. Their is no entry fee but
refreshments are on sale. If you are unable to attend any financial
support that you are able to extend to this venture would be
appreciated by us and no doubt by his family.
Please respond by
email or telephone contact.
Regards

Jamaica Defence Force (JDF)
Players Suspended
Kingston, Jamaica:
The Jamaica Defence Force Football Team has seen three (3) of its
members suspended for breaches of the JFF Disciplinary Code while
participating in a KSAFA Major League match on December 10, 2011
against Allma-Woodford Football Club.
The suspensions were
handed down at the KSAFA disciplinary committee meeting held on
January 12, 2012 following the match referee’s report, internal
investigations and careful deliberations.
KSAFA President
Rudolph Speid while welcoming the decision indicated that the
association does not condone violence of any sort in the sport:
“What took place in
the game is rather unfortunate. I do not support violence in any
sports and certainly not in any KSAFA run competition. I support the
ruling of the disciplinary committee and hope that this not only sends
a signal of the seriousness of our competitions, but also clearly
indicate to the players that they are role models who should not take
part in such behavior”.
The Disciplinary
committee found Mr. Ricardo Gordon, Terrence Shaw and Kevin Mitchell
guilty of breaches of the JFF Disciplinary Code articles 48, 49 and 47
respectively and recommended the following:
-
Player Ricardo Gordon
shall be suspended for four matches and be fined five Thousand
Dollars ($5,000.00).
-
Player Terrence Shaw
shall be suspended for six matches and be fined five Thousand
Dollars ($ 5,000.00).
-
Kevin Mitchell shall
be band for the remainder of the season and be fined $25,000,00.
The Burchell Gibson
chaired committee also recommended that the KSAFA should take note of
a few areas, including amongst other things:
-
Referees to ensure
that the Goalkeepers are properly identified on Match Cards
submitted for games
-
The KSAFA should
review the criteria and regulate the participation of the teams for
The Jamaica Constabulary Force and The Jamaica Defense Force (JDF)
in its competitions
-
The JDF must pay the
medical bills for Omar Grant who sustained a broken jaw and was
hospitalized
-
When Up-Park Camp is
used as a home venue, members of The Jamaica Constabulary Force
should be used as Security Officers.
-
The JDF should
identify an alternate venue for matches while playing in
Competitions; the Competitions Committee should review the use of
the Up Park Camp venue based on the number of reported incidents
KSAFA has informed
the JDF of the ruling and looks forward to their continued support as
we work together to stomp out violence in football.
